Advertising Guidelines

  • Frequency Contracts: All ad insertions in TCM, MTMS, and MT may be combined for frequency contract rates within 12 months of date of first insertion. If the number of insertions within the contract year is less than contracted, the rate for all insertions will be adjusted to the applicable rate.
  • Advertising Policies: All advertising is subject to review and approval by the publisher; see NCTM advertising policies.
  • Ad Content: Advertiser and advertising agency assume liability for all claims arising from their printed ad content (including text and illustrations).
  • Ad Materials: Publisher does not guarantee printed results from materials not conforming to required formats. Publisher assumes no liability for ad materials beyond normal careful handling.
  • Guaranteed Ad Position: Additional 10% of the gross cost of the ad.
  • Cancellation Policies:

    —Covers and guaranteed ad positions cannot be cancelled.

    No cancellations of inside ad positions will be permitted after space reservation deadline date.

    —All cancellations must be made in writing.

    —Failure to comply with cancellation policies stated above will result in a full charge for the ad insertion at the applicable contract rate.

  • Phone reservations are accepted with written confirmation on or before the closing date.
  • Position preference will be honored in order of receipt of reservations. Guaranteed positions like right-hand pages and "first half of issue" are subject to availability and will be charged a premium; please call for details.
  • Coupons should be placed across the full width of the ad.
  • Invoices reflecting the contract rate will be sent after each medium has been published. Advertisers who do not fulfill their contract rates will be short-rated on the basis of the higher rate.
  • The advertiser and its advertising agency, if there be any, shall be jointly and severally liable for payment of all advertising monies due and payable to the publisher.
  • First-time advertisers are requested to prepay the first ad to establish an account. Future ads will be billed. Advertisers outside of the U.S. and Canada must prepay all ads.
  • A 15% agency commission is applicable to print ad and position charges only. Production charges for corrections and proofs are not comissionable.
  • A late-payment charge (18% annual rate) will apply to invoices unpaid after 30 days.
