Welcome to the 2024 NCTM Annual Meeting in Chicago!

On behalf of the Metropolitan Mathematics Club of Chicago (MMC) and the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM), we are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to educators, researchers, and enthusiasts from around the world. Chicago, a city renowned for its vibrant culture, architectural marvels, and deep-rooted commitment to education, is the perfect backdrop for this year’s meeting.

As organizations dedicated to advancing mathematics education, MMC and ICTM are honored to co-host this prestigious event. We have worked diligently with NCTM to ensure an experience that is both enriching and inspiring. The program is packed with engaging sessions, insightful keynotes, and numerous opportunities for professional growth and collaboration.

This year’s theme, "The Math of Their Dreams: Illuminating Students’ Brilliance," reflects our shared mission to recognize and nurture the unique talents and perspectives that each student brings to the classroom. Our students come to us with a wide range of experiences that inform how they think, see, and express themselves. Each one arrives with a unique brilliance, and it is our hope that this brilliance is illuminated for all to see. For us as educators, this means fostering in our students the joy of learning and discovering the powerful ways mathematics connects to and emerges from their natural abilities. For our students, it means ensuring they never lose sight of how amazing they are and helping them to see the beauty and relevance of mathematics in their lives.

We encourage you to take full advantage of everything the Annual Meeting & Exposition has to offer. Engage with presenters and fellow attendees, participate in hands-on workshops, and explore the vibrant exhibit hall. Additionally, be sure to experience the charm and excitement of Chicago, from its world-class museums and theaters to its iconic skyline and culinary delights.

Thank you for being a part of the 2024 NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition. Your passion and dedication are what make this community so special. Let’s make this a memorable and transformative experience for all.

Welcome to Chicago, and here’s to an exceptional conference!

Sincerely,
The Metropolitan Mathematics Club of Chicago (MMC)
The Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM)
