With 12 years of running STEM
camps and institutes for Black and Latina middle and high school girls, this
session shares success strategies for engaging girls of color in mathematics
beyond the school day. Learn how to create an ecosystem where underrepresented
girls are centered to foster positive math identity formation and affinity
toward STEM careers. This interactive-style workshop features topics of
culturally relevant pedagogy, community building, belongingness, and social
justice.
