Upper Elementary Mathematics Lessons to Explore, Understand,
and Respond to Social Injustice
Wednesday, March 29, 2023
5:30 – 7:00 PM ET
In this session, we will explore
teaching math for social justice (TMSJ) in early elementary grades.
Participants will learn about and explore a social justice mathematics lesson
template, connect to math and social justice standards, and will actively
engage in a math lesson to explore, understand, and respond to social
injustice. Participants will critically reflect on the possibilities and
tensions of teaching math for social justice.
