Without Music, Geometry is Pointless!
The proposed Math/Music activity addresses the hemispheres of the brain and how it impacts on learning basic math concepts for elementary aged school children. Left brain learners tend to be logical thinkers, think in sequential order and often prefer to be taught in a linear way. Right brain learners tend to be artistic and prefer more abstract activities.
This Math/Music activity will join the characteristics of both hemispheres and provide students the opportunity to utilize both hemispheres simultaneously, thus enriching their thought processes. It will help to provide and maximize learning capacity and will hopefully result in a solid learning outcome helpful to both math mastery and appreciation of music.
