    NCTM/EMIF Announce Early Childhood Math Webinar Series

    The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and The National Association for the Education of Young Children's Early Math Interest Forum (NAEYC EMIF) have collaborated to produce a new, complimentary webinar series focusing on creating developmentally appropriate math for PreK and Kindergarten. 

    This three-session series will take place this June through August. Registration is complimentary for all attendees.

    Session 1. Routines and Games to Illuminate the Big Ideas of Number Sense

    Number sense is a critical skill, a strong predictor of kindergarten readiness, and predictive of later student achievement. In this session, explore a variety of engaging math routines and games that will spark your early learners' mathematical thinking in developmentally appropriate ways all while having fun!

    Session 2. Developing a Positive Math Mindset with Games, Books, and Technology for Young Learners

    This session will focus on ways to foster a positive math mindset for young learners in preschool though the early grades, using fun, hands-on games, engaging narrative stories, and math-focused technology tools.

    Session 3. Here's One for the Little Guy: Fitting Math into the Early Childhood Curriculum

    Tuesday, August 13 | 7:00-8:00 PM ET

    Uncertain how to squeeze math into an already crowded day? In this session, you will learn five easy principles and over a dozen lesson and center ideas for integrating worthwhile mathematics with students' natural curiosity, literacy, assessment, and play.
