This Research Brief focuses on linking research and practice for involving Latino and Latina parents in their children's mathematics education. The authors discuss culturally relevant concepts for Hispanic parents as useful in appreciating their approaches to the education of children. This reframes how schools understand parental involvement and parents support, strengths, and resources within their communities. Specific to mathematics education, research discussed in this Research Brief outlines the importance of
- Learning from parents' and families' experiences and knowledge;
- Offering workshops and short courses in mathematics for parents and their children;
- Creating spaces for parents to discuss issues related to teaching and learning mathematics; and,
- Conducting classroom visits with parents.
