The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are a set of academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy (ELA) developed under the direction of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the National Governors Association (NGA).
The math standards include both content standards and mathematical practices (process standards) outlining what each student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade. The standards collectively define the skills and knowledge all students need to succeed in college, career, and life, regardless of where they live.
