Missy Sperle is finishing up her 27th year of teaching in rural Wisconsin, where she has the pleasure of teaching 5th-grade math every day. She believes it's the greatest job there is. As the K-5 Math Leader, Missy Sperle works alongside educators in her school to ensure the use of consistent methods and vocabulary. This collaborative effort has led to a significant improvement in students' math abilities, as evidenced by their performance on the Wisconsin Forward Exam and in the classroom.

Sperle has presented at the Wisconsin Mathematics Council's Green Lake Math Conference for the past three years and at the Math Expressions User Virtual Summit for the past two summers. She loves engaging with other math educators and learning from them. Outside the classroom, Sperle enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, as well as participating in CrossFit and hiking.
