Mike Steele is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Educational Studies at Teachers College at Ball State University. He is a Past President of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, a director-at-large of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and editor of Mathematics Teacher Educator. A former middle and high school math and science teacher, Steele has worked with preservice and practicing teachers, administrators, and doctoral students nationwide for over two decades. He has published numerous books and articles on developing mathematics teacher knowledge and implementing effective teaching practices, including NCTM’s Taking Action series and the 5 Practices in Practice series He also authored A Quiet Revolution, a resource on reforming high school mathematics teaching and learning.
